Joni Mitchell began her recording career in 1968, but she was a major songwriting force even before then, an acknowledged leader in the folk and "artsong" movement. The gifted woman from Saskatoon, Canada moved to David Geffen's Asylum records last year (after two gold LPs for Reprise). Her first album for the label, "For The Roses" was certified gold recently and is currently bulleted at #14 on the CashBox Top 100 LP chart.

Asylum efforts have also brought Ms. Mitchell her first major chart single in "Turn Me On, I'm A Radio" (bulleted at #26).
