Opening the festival at 2:30 p.m. will be the United States of America, a Los Angeles group. Other name groups will appear April 5 and 6 in Clothier Hall.
The festival will bring to the campus up-and-coming artists with a wide diversity of talents and different approaches to the rock and folk idioms," according to festival chairman Warren Phinney.
The Los Angeles group's appearance will be the only one in the Philadelphia area and will mark the end of its first eastern tour.
Phinney said the group is comprised of "very serious musicians attempting to bring the influence of Indian, western classical and electronic music, as well as jazz, into rock."
Joe Byrd, leader of the group arranged the orchestration of Phil Ochs', "Pleasures of the Harbor".
