JONI MITCHELL (Reprise),
IREEN SHEER (Bell),
Big Yellow Taxi

SELF-PENNED by Joni Who [sic], you will recall, also wrote Judy Collins' "Both Sides Now." This is a much lighter and less thought-provoking number, and the social comment lyric is treated in togue [sic]-in-cheek style.

A fast-paced item with a lively beat and a catchy hook, it's given a folk-beat approach by its composer, while the British cover by Family Dogg girl Ireen Sheer has a more commercial gloss.

It's possible that either of these discs could register, as both are very acceptable. But I reckon Joni stands a slightly better chance, if only because her's [sic] is the original.
