Canadian-born folksinger and songwriter Joni Mitchell is a fresh talent. In a 47-minute set of her own songs that all share a midwestern, prairie texture, she shows herself a creative spark in the current folk scene.
Her pattern is autobiographical and explanatory. It fits hand in glove with the songs, which range from "Lazy Summer" to a tribute to guitar accompanist David Rea, "Play, Little David, Play".
Miss Mitchell, with high cheekbones, flaxen-color hair and a crystal clear voice, is bound for bigger things.
