SASKATOON, SASK - About 3,000 people have turned out to see the art of pop legend Joni Mitchell in the first 3 days of her Saskatoon exhibit.

The Saskatoon-born Mitchell has always described herself as more painter than musician. When I paint, I forget I have a body," says Mitchell. "Music, you know, I have the sense to eat and sleep. But painting is really obsessive, compulsive."

People who have converged on Mendel Art Gallery say they are impressed with her work. "I think that her work is absolutely rich and it's very symbolic of her music", said one appreciative fan. "I'm quite impressed."

Gallery officials are predicting 75,000 people will view the Joni Mitchell exhibit by the time it closes on September 17th.
