Jazz singer Kimberly Ford and saxophonist Kim Richmond will combine to capture the real life bond between two great artists, Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock, in a concert to be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Park Center in Hayward.

Admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Students 18 and under are admitted for $5. Advance tickets are available at Art Beat in downtown Hayward (cash or check only) or may be purchased at here.

Ford, who has performed previously at The Park, reproduces the complex vocal inflections and range of Joni Mitchell reminiscent of her early years. And she powers skillfully through the sultry, deeply jazz-influenced compositions from Mitchell’s later collaborations with jazz bassist Charles Mingus and pianist Herbie Hancock.
