Tributes & Events

More than a dozen Ithaca area musicians are set to perform on Saturday, October 15 at the Community School of Music and Arts’ (CSMA) seventh annual Joni Mitchell Tribute concert.

The highly anticipated event will take place in Martha Hamblin Hall, 3rd floor at CSMA, starting at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30 and admission is $10 at the door, with all proceeds benefitting CSMA arts education programs.

This year’s lineup will include Burns & Kristy Band, Christine Evans, Joe Gaylord, Wayne Gottlieb, Judy Hyman & Uniit Carruyo, Ithaca Gay Men's Chorus, Ellen Jackson, Colleen Kattau & Friends, Molly MacMillan, Laura Peters, and Patti Witten & Rich DePaolo.

“One of the greatest songwriters ever (Rolling Stone),” Joni Mitchell has influenced and been covered by a wide range of artists over the past 40 years. According to concert organizer, Joe Gaylord, “Local musicians deeply embrace her music, ranging from folk to blues to jazz to rock. Each year, I can’t wait to see who will share their talents and what their vision of Joni Mitchell’s music is.”

“Joni is a perfect fit for CSMA, our great cause” says Gaylord. “She is an amazing musician, songwriter, painter, and creator of dance works. All these areas of artistry align with what the Community School of Music and Arts has promoted for fifty-plus years.”
