A tribute to iconic singer-composer Joni Mitchell is scheduled in the Alexandria Ballroom of Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall on September 8th at 8pm. Doors open at 7pm. Playing music from her critically acclaimed jazz albums: Shadows & Light, Hejira, Mingus, Miles of Aisles, Court & Spark, and The Hissing of Summer Lawns, the seven-member group includes four Newtown natives: Leslie Ballard (vocals, flute), Steve Zerlin (bass), Matt Spencer (percussion), and Roger Post (drums). The group also features Christian Martirano on keyboards, Steve Moran on sax, and Tony DePaolo on guitar.

Each of the members of the Joni Mitchell Jazz tribute have a deep respect and love of her music, and the challenges of her sophisticated arrangements. Sharing her brilliance with the audience is a joyful celebration, with introductions and background given for each of the songs, and a slideshow during intermission; making this a personal tribute to one of Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Times.
