The Mud Club

Joni's comments from the 1988 eclection art exhibition catalog: Georgia and Juan had been making clay vessels. Juan said they were inspired by Georgia's black river rocks. They called themselves the Mud Club.

(Diary of a Decade exhibition catalogue) Records her encounter with Georgia O'Keefe and the subsequent relationship which developed between the two women. The unusual title for this work is taken from the fact that O'Keefe and her companion Juan had been making clay vessels and they called themselves the 'Mud Club'
