Joni Mitchell's band and road crew may be the best-dressed group on the circuit. The singer ordered 25 custom-made indigo raw silk sports jackets from Maxfield Bleu as souvenirs of her summer tour. The unconstructed three-button jackets were copied from a Private Label design and have an embroidered patch the Grammy winner designed herself. It reads "Joni Mitchell and Friends/Summer Tour '79" "Joni told us she wanted something that would go with denim jeans, since everybody on her tour wears them," says Maxfield's Susan Epstein. "And she didn't want to give them the usual satin baseball jacket of T-shirt everyone gets on the tour. She ordered one for herself, too."
