Joni joined Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison and others
as guest performers at The Band's farewell concert. A film
of the event, directed by Martin Scorsese, was released in
theaters, on videotape, laserdisc and DVD.
A soundtrack album was also released.

During a performance of the song Mystery Train the stage lights blew out, leaving only one spotlight to light the stage. As Neil Young performs Helpless Joni is singing background vocals in the shadows from a microphone backstage.
