I was a junior at college still, in town for the weekend, and a cousin said "lets go down to Yorkville for some music." We went to the Riverboat and Joni - I'd never heard of her - came out and opened with Urge for Going. To me she seemed just a waif of a girl about my age, with a big guitar, singing folk music, which was just what I wished I was doing.
I performed the song myself recently at an Open Mic in NH and told the story of that night so long ago. Jim Talbert 12/17/15
