Chuck made an appearance at the Cathedral Church of St Paul in Detroit in January 1965 when he and Joni were living near Wayne State University in an apartment. My dad was a grad student at Wayne State. Mom was singing at the Alcove when Dad met her. Chuck sang at their wedding. When the Monsignor heard what he was planning on singing at the wedding rehearsal, he put his foot down and said there would be no secular music in his church. The only religious song Chuck knew at the time was I Wonder as I Wander.

Just happened upon the information about the location in Rochester where Joni was married. That site is now a complex of condominiums -- built in the 1970's I would guess. It's right next to a very nice "rails to trails" walking/running/biking trail though. Interesting to find out the connection to Rochester and further connection to Detroit.
