i wasn't at this show, as i was away at college. this was at the generation club which was a very short lived club on the south side of 8th street between macdougal and 6th avenue. it became electric lady studios shortly after this. i used to see jimi walking out in the early morning when i was on my way to the subway at 8th and 6th avenue to my uptown job.
jimi henrix taped this evening on his reel to reel tape recorder which was on the stage while the performances were going on. the whole thing was up on youtube for awhile but has since been taken down. even more lucky...was the fact that NYU graduate film student and nyc native marty scorsese walked in with his camera and shot the night.
