Here is a poem that appears in my collection titled "Purr"

Roaming a highway in Saskatchewan, Canada
Summoning the early life of Joni Mitchell
Oh Joni, was it this bleak vista
This flat, sad land
Which nourished the poet-painter's talent?
I see it perhaps having opposite effect:
Leveling, tempering, hardening
No wool pulled over this shrewd lady's eyes
Even when singing songs about ruby rings and filigree
And semi-dangerous guys
