Joni Mitchell Fans Riot Outside Concert Print-ready version

MILAN, Italy — Riot police fired tear gas bombs into a crowd of nearly 1,000 stone-throwing youths who tried to break into a tent theater for a performance by Joni Mitchell, police said today.

Several youths and policemen were injured in the nearly three hour riot Monday night, police said. One car was set afire and others were damaged. Inside the theater, the Canadian singer completed her concert for an audience of 7,000.
