Independents Daze   Print

by Mick Skidmore
February 1995

After a three-year hiatus, Joni Mitchell is back with TURBULENT INDIGO (Reprise), one of her best albums in many years.

Mitchell's lyrics are as poetic as ever, and her melodies are daunting.

The title cut shows her jazz-rock leanings while Yvette in English harks back to her folkier days.
