Joni Mitchell, a young Canadian singer-composer who has made the big time in the folk music world, will give a concert in the Capitol Theatre April 15 under auspices of the Treble Clef.
Joni, who grew up in Saskatoon, enrolled in the Alberta College of Art in Calgary with the intention of becoming a commercial artist. She turned to folk music as a career after making a trek to the Mariposa Folk Festival.
She was the hit of the Miami Pop Festival last January and at the end of this month will tape a television show in Nashville with Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. Her latest album has an advance sale of some 100,000 copies.
Joni now makes her home in the Los Angeles area.
