Joni Mitchell will be honored by the Saskatchewan Recording Industry Association with a lifetime achievement award during the association's Music Industry Weekend, Nov. 12-14.

Mitchell's list of achievements is substantial since she first gained international notice more than two decades ago, when she fled the Prairies with notebooks of tunes that became standards to her generation.

Her appearance is just one of several by noted Canadian music industry types gathering in Saskatoon for professional development seminars, demo critiques and showcase of Saskatchewan talent.

Twenty-seven different bands will showcase their output at clubs through-out the city on Friday and Saturday nights.
