David Yaffe reads / musical tribute, Woodstock NY Dec 1-2

Author David Yaffe will discuss his book, “Joni Mitchell: Reckless Daughter” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at The Colony, 22 Rock City Road, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at The Golden Notebook, 29 Tinker St.

Join Yaffe in a conversation with Holly George Warren, at The Colony about the new biography, followed by a tribute concert featuring Gail Anne Dorsey, Veronica Nunn, Leslie Ritter, Scott Petito, and Jay Collins, among others.

There is a $20 cover charge.

The conversation will continue at The Golden Notebook the following day as part of its Holiday Open House. The Golden Notebook event is free and open to the public.

In “Reckless Daughter,” Yaffe, a professor of humanities at Syracuse University, tells the story of how Mitchell became a superstar of folk music in the 1960s and a key figure in the Laurel Canyon music scene of the 1970s.
