The Hommage Festivities honoring Joni at the "World Leaders" festival in Toronto kick off on Tuesday night with a concert called "Joni Mitchell: A Tribute in Song." This program, at Toronto's Premiere Dance Theatre, features Musical Director Aaron Davis and includes performaces by vocalists including Jane Siberry, Suzie Vinnick, David Sereda and Marc Jordan. Other events leading up to Friday's Hommage program include a Thursday lecture titled "Joni Mitchell: The Constant Quest for Artistic Growth." The lecture by Rob Bowman, Grammy award-winning professor of music at York University, will be followed by a film titled "Joni Mitchell-In Concert and On Video."

New Yorkers also have an upcoming event worth seeing when John Kelly premieres his new show of more recent Joni material titled "Shiny Hot Nights: More Songs of Joni Mitchell" at FEZ next Saturday, October 20. It's sure to be a great show, and a perfect opportunity to enjoy an evening in Manhattan!
