The good news: Shadows and Light, Karen O'Brien's excellent new Joni biography, has been released! Karen's engagingly written, thoroughly researched book includes illuminating excerpts from interviews with Joni, stories and observations from throughout her life and career, as well as interviews with many people from Joni's inner circle. It's well worth searching out. The bad news: it looks like some searching may be necessary to find it -- unfortunately, it's not going to be available everywhere. I've been told by Virgin Books that it isn't licensed for sale in the United States (#@%*!!), so at least as far as the U.S. goes, it's going to be harder for readers to get than I expected. If it isn't available where you live and you can't make it to London for a copy, I've found it on sale at the Amazon.uk website.
