A new biography of Joni by music journalist Karen O'Brien is due for release by Virgin Books on the 4th of October. O'Brien's book Shadows and Light contains material obtained in first-hand interviews with a wide variety of inner-circle associates such as Larry Klein, Graham Nash, archivist and guitar tech Joel Bernstein, and Tom Rush; the book also contains previously unpublished correspondence between Joni and renowned painter Georgia O'Keefe.
