According to Vince Lavieri, Letterman had a sketch where a stagehand ate various kinds of peanut butter to test for the most crunchy. One was so crunchy it "caused" a blood vessel to burst and fake blood gushed all over the stage. Dave said, "Blood and Peanut Butter, my favorite Joni Mitchell album."
