Joni Mitchell's latest work is more of the same. There's no real surprises here - the same ethereal melodies, sensitive lyrics. The production is effectively spare, and she has at times a real bite to her vocals; she's playing around with phrasing a little more. All of the cuts will doubtless by played heavy on FM progressives. "Black Crow," an uptempo tune with a lot of life to it, could get some AM pop spins.
