Few artists can rightly be called “icons” of their time and genre. Joni Mitchell is undoubtedly one of them. Her innovative and original music is woven into the very fabric of 20th century American culture. Much more than an entertainer, Mitchell became a treasured voice for millions of fans around the world.

Issa Forrest and Sweet Bird capture the magic and unique sound that so many have come to love through the decades. The band faithfully renders many of Joni’s songs, while lovingly reimagining others. This gifted group of musicians truly lives up to the challenge implied in the phrase, “tribute band.” Not content to simply “cover” Mitchell’s life work, the group delivers the essence of the music and delights audiences with cherished memories.

This show amounts to an evening of time travel through Mitchell’s own musical journey — from the light and frolicking “Chelsea Morning” to the grounded and contemplative sound of “Sweet Bird.”
