The stickleback fish is almost extinct in the Vancouver area where Joni has a home. A conservationist group asked Joni to paint and donate this work of art for "The Stickleback Social", premiered in Sechelt, Vancouver on November 22, 2003. It was put up for auction on eBay but did not reach its reserve price. The current owner lives in the United Kingdom and was able to subsequently buy the picture from the original seller.
