A syndicated U.S. TV talk and entertainment program.
Joni was interviewed and performed one song.
Broadcast on Nov. 29
(From a visitor in the front row at the rehearsal): Joni was scheduled to do "The Magdalene Laundries", but apparently it was too long. She tried "Sex Kills," and "Hejira," before settling on "Harry's House" which she played one time to remind herself. After she was finished, the producers told her that the elapsed time was about 3 minutes. She laughed and said, "That's more like television huh?" She then played it again--just on the guitar this time, no vocal.
(On the air): On November 29th, Joni's appearance on 'The Rosie O'Donnell Show" was aired. Joni sang a haunting version of "Harry's House" (from The Hissing of Summer Lawns & Misses) and Joni and Rosie chatted while sucking on Ricola lozenges. Joni said that she was suffering from vocal nodes and that she'd been told she had to completely stop singing and talking for an entire week. She stated that being quiet was going to be very difficult for her as she likes to talk. It was a charming appearance.
